Sleep from Now On Video

Kitty Raymond, pediatric sleep specialist, talks about research on pediatric sleep debt and helps parents learn her 3-night training program to enable a baby or toddler to use  self-calming stragegies to get to sleep --and back to sleep, independently! Nights and naps are discussed.  Now, the whole family can wake up refreshed and happy to see each other!

Once a baby has demonstrated its ability to gain weight (usually by 12 lbs), it may be prudent to discontinue night feedings. Kitty Raymond instructs parents on how to make this transition. Babies, toddlers and preschoolers do well with an 11 or 12 hour night and regular, long naps depending on age.

Hello Kitty,
We just wanted to let you know that we followed your advice and suggestions regarding the extinction method of sleep training are very pleased with the results.  It’s been over a month and our baby has been sleeping through the night since ever since (naps are also successful).
Thank you,

For Tammy Hanratty:

The research on sleep training methods rates the extinction method of sleep training higher than all other methods.  This is because it works quickly (3 nights in most cases) and doesn’t leave the baby with mixed messages.  No effective sleep training method will be successful without some crying because that is the method by which babies and toddlers design their self-calming strategies to help them fall asleep easily and without help. Sleep is so important to a baby’s growth and development that -once you help your baby in this way - you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it earlier:)
