Sleep From The Start

Newborn infants can learn to be good sleepers - early, gradually, gently - right from the start.  Kitty Raymond advises parents on ways to gently sleep-train their baby to take longer naps and extend their nights, gradually.  Kitty talks about colic, reflux, swaddling, gas, breastfeeding, bottle feeding and how these issues affect sleep.

Kitty covers nipple confusion, infant growth spurts and baby weight gain. Kitty Raymond will discuss a feeding schedule and a sleep schedule that suits newborn babies very well.  As a pediatric sleep expert and baby sleep consultant, Kitty has been solving sleep issues for families in Canada and the US for 27 years.

Expectant parents should plan to attend this prenatal sleep program before their baby's due date.  Newborn babies also welcome!

Sleep from Now On

Would you like to help your baby, toddler or preschooler learn to sleep through the night?  Are you wondering how and when to stop nighttime feedings?  How to avoid bedtime battles? Once your baby has shown a good pattern of weight gain (usually by 12 lbs), it may be prudent to stop night feedings. Kitty also discusses feeding, reflux, and many of the issues parents wonder about.

In this seminar, Kitty Raymond counsels parents on sleep training methods to help their child learn good sleeping habits, solve their own waking problems stay asleep all night long.

Older babies, toddlers and preschoolers do well with a 12-hour night and regular, long naps depending on age.  This seminar is designed for parents with a child of 12 lbs. or more --all the way up to approximately 3 years of age.

Toilet Learning

Kitty Raymond presents the basics of a stress-free, child-led transition from diapers to potty.  Young children do not learn well from being taught or "trained."  In fact, many children become highly resistant to toilet training when the parent is in charge. Parents have a role, but it's not what you would think.

Kitty dispels the the multitude of parenting myths that surround toilet training and reminds parents that this is just one more stage of development --not any more important than all the rest. Time to relax, play your role well and let your child do the heavy-lifting!

Come to an entertaining evening on one of childhoods hottest topics!

Setting Healthy Limits

Discipline is one of the most loving - yet difficult - jobs a parent has to do.  Children test their parents every day and parents are left wondering how to get a child to listen, what to do about temper tantrums and how to keep a toddler from running away. How parents respond  during these moments will ultimately determine how your child goes out to meet the world.

No one can be the perfect parent but we all need good tools and well-researched strategies to meet each new challenge from a child who is begging to know where the limits are.  Kitty also discusses how and why some misbehavior is predictable and what you can do to prepare yourself ahead of time.

Kitty Raymond helps you get a perspective, have a laugh and go home with new strategies and tools.

Independent Play

When children are overly entertained from babyhood on and have not acquired the ability to play alone, they tend to become increasingly demanding and may always look to the parent or caregiver to make their play interesting. Teaching children from an early age to play independently is to give them a life-long skill.

Begin early - 6-8 months - and continue through preschool age to help your child master the art of independent play.  Kitty has ideas and a pep talk just for you!

NOTE: If you cannot make it to this seminar or live out of Calgary, you can receive all the information from the seminar by booking a Telephone Consultation.  Kitty can also tailor the seminar information to suit your own situation.
